For WW11 Aficionados, this book is UNIQUE & COMPELLING
Instead of dying with your buddies, your job is to RESCUE them in Burma. Instead of weapons and guns, our heroes use their Social and emotional intelligence to find and bring home our fallen pilots. NO Japanese, but tons of Native villagers who can either help or impede you in your rescue mission. Edge of your seat drama after first 15 pages. Author is the soldier who did the rescuing. Heroism, well told and adds to my knowledge about my extended family.
I met Bill Dielbold at his mother-in-laws home. His wife and her sister, my 2nd cousins visited me in 1999. Now I know "the rest of the story". I first learned about this book on my Ancestry tree, took it out of the library and read it decided it belongs in my library of family story books. It's an amazing book or heroism and very well told.
