Love it. Sensitive and has lots of options. Nice display, Great value for the money.
I really like this radar detector. Its being a factory refurb is of no concern for me because it carries the normal warranty. It arrived packaged well and had all the accessories. It replaces an older model of Uniden that we recently sold along with another car (the new car's owner insisted upon me leaving it in the car). One of the nicest features of this new one is being able to shut off nuisance bands that are not really applicable in our area, for example- Spectre. It doesn't false alarm nearly as often as the Uniden used to, but definitely does detect genuine radar situations. I also really like the display and the controls in general. They are clear and intuitive. Although some people may like it, and it does work well, I shut off the voice alerts in favor of the traditional "beep" alerts. But that's just my preference, and thankfully they included the option to do that. One thing I don't like are the tiny, inadequate suction cups on the windshield mount. However to be fair they are completely typical of all radar detectors in this price range, so I did not count them as a negative in the overall rating. I immediately removed them and replaced them with the largest ones I could fit into the bracket that would not overlap each other. However, even they are not large enough for long-term usage. So I will be installing even larger ones by bolting their wire hooks to the metal bracket. I have done this on detectors in other vehicles and it has worked extremely well. A final comment- I will be wiring this into the car's electrical system so that I don't have to use the accessory plug and dangling cable. I have done this on other cars as well, but would have appreciated an option of a "permanent" harness from Cobra to be able to do this. I realize that it might not be practical for them to provide such an option because of all the potential variations in wire lengths and other factors. So I will fabricate one myself, and once installed up at the top of windshield it becomes virtually invisible from the car's exterior, and even from the interior if you don't look upward. 2nd best cobra
Not as much range as the cobra dsp9000bt but the ivt/bsm tech works well to avoid most falses. I only k falsed when pointed directly at store's auto door openers. And Acura mdxs and other Chevy suvs occasionally would set off a false k. But if u see a ka alert. Take my advice- Hit the brakes!Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Simple and easy to use
Nice detector. Simple and easy to use. Hot wired it to fuse box and that was easy with separate wire kit. Does not tell you if signal is coming from in front or behind (or I haven’t figured that out yet?) and the only thing I do not like is its reflection off of the windshield. Good looking Radar detector.
Excellent design, programable and user friendly. I had the chance to compare it to a beltronics RX65 Pro (same price point) and an old Cobra XRS 9430. The RAD 450 has little bit better sencitivity and range than the XRS 9430. Compared to the beltronics... The rx65 is much more sencitive and better range but annoying as well because of to many false alerts... Every minute.
