Although there is mention of shipping from this seller taking longer in a general sense, and there was no rush to receive it, it took 3 1/2 weeks--nearly a month--for this item to get from Hawaii to NY, while items from Japan to NY are received in less than two weeks, being twice as far away on top of being another country entirely. Outside of that, the item was packaged very well, and it is received as described. Thank you.

That was a long time indeed. I mailed on time but I have no control over USPS. Media mail is the one class of mail that can experience delays. Usually not this much, though.

Item as described. Nice book. The inscription on the first page made a carbon copy of the inscription on the second page, so the book had a double inscription. Not really what I expected, but everything else about the book was excellent. Great price. Well packed. Shipped out fast. Received super fast with Priority Mail. Thank you so much!

Shipping was quick, packaging was good, certainly as described, and the value is great. I feel honored to inherit this person's keepsakes from his/her time at Mont Saint Michel, including the vintage photographs. I have always wanted to go there, and I feel like I reached back to '86 and visited. This inspires me this day to keep stoking my dream to stay there. Wow & Thanks! :-)

  • An American story of unmatched courage and sacrifice for the nation.

Memorial to the men of the 100th Battalion/442nd Regimental Combat team. The book contains a listing and photos of those KIA, historical backgrounds of battles, and short memoirs of survivors. The sacrifices and courage of these Japanese American troops and their officers should not be forgotten. Their actions promoted the assimilation of Nikkei into the fabric of this country and (with the aid of Texas, the home-state of the Lost Battalion they rescued) led directly to statehood for Hawaii. It is a remarkable story we should all learn and treasure. The seller, bookstore Malasada's Books in Mililani, Hawaii did a wonderful job in ensuring the book arrived in prime condition. The price was a little high but the store asked just a third of what other sellers were asking; and really, it was ...
