    One lens does it all

    It used to be enthusiastic photographers carted around a bag full of lenses so we could capture any scene, any location. Not anymore. The focal range of 18mm to 200mm gives wide angle to telephoto. If you are after the absolute pin sharp image then a prime lens is the answer with the draw back of having only a wide angle lens on the camera when a brilliant opportunity for an amazing shot presents itself...and you have to fumble the tele lens onto the camera means you will probably miss the shot. I wish I had this lens on a recent trip to Burma when the passing parade often presented a photogenic scene... when I was photographing buildings. Nikon is as good as it gets so rest assured results from this lens are very acceptable. I love mine and it will stay on the camera unless I'm on set a specific task. Only draw back is a hefty weight and chunky appearance. With a hood its a big piece of kit. With the usual image stabilization technology you can hand hold to slow shutter speeds or you can get all creative on manual setting. Once you have one of these you will wonder why it took you so long.
