    Does not work with newer SDHC or SDXC cards.

    This media card reader does what it's supposed to do well on any laptop with a PCMCIA card slot built in. Although the data transfer rate is quite slow because the card acts as an IDE controller which runs on the PCI bus. The data rate is also much slower due to speeds of older flash memory cards. This adapter can not read newer SDHC or SDXC cards with higher capacity at all either, as it only supports the original SD standard. As such, any SD cards that work with this adapter will be limited to a capacity no greater than 2GB. The SD card must also go into the adapter before it goes into the PCMCIA slot for it to read too, it does not support hot swapping media cards. Other than these oddities, this adapter works perfectly to read and transfer files to and from older SD cards, memory ...
