Dremel Brush Door
The brush doors are designed to hold the motor brushes against the rotor. To do so, they are under a high degree of pressure. However the doors are designed with a thin plastic latch that is expected to withstand the pressure and hold the brush in place. Unfortunately the plastic is not substantial enough to withstand the pressure and has a tendency to break off. This is a design flaw that should be corrected by Dremel..

Dremel 400 XPR rotary tool
When I got the tool it did not work. I cleaned it inside and out, changed the brushes and the armature. VROOOM! It worked and ran smoothly with good power. I used it to do some sanding on a wood project and it performed very well.
