    Great quiet, reliable external drive.

    I just have a few hundred hours on it so far, but it has been reliable, but pretty slow. Since I'm using it for backup, the speed is less important than the reliability.

    Good size at a reasonable price BUT TOO noisy squeeking noise

    The hard drive is a good size for what I need, but is too noisy. Don't know whether this one or a problem with it. I have other WD hds but the do not generate that much squeeking noise

    Everything I wanted.

    I didn't need fancy network backup, and I didn't need to backup items that I need to view off site. I needed a simple way to back up my 4k YouTube creations and this fits the bill exactly. No need to fuss with formatting, its as easy as plug it in and go. Can't say enough about WD. (No I don't work for them...lol)

    Looked Brand New

    I'm sure it's definitely not brand new but it was all wrapped neatly in the sticker plastic and both cables were wrapped as if they came straight from a retail store. No scratches that I could see. It worked right out of the box. It connects to my laptops pretty fast after coming out of sleep mode. I've only had it for about two weeks but so far so good.

    Fast, but broke shortly after first use

    Drive was making a clicking sound when I turned it on for the first time. About 2 week after I set it up, the drive failed and cannot be detected or initialized anymore (attempted to use the drive in a separate docking station to ensure that it was the drive, not the enclosure). Was fast and worked well prior to the drive failing. Not sure if it was shipping damage, factory defect, or just not taken care of prior to purchase.
