About this product

Product Information

The "Fallout" series of video games takes you to a post-apocalyptic world where you explore open worlds and solve puzzles. "Fallout Collection" was originally released for the PC in 2008. It includes the first three games: "Fallout," "Fallout 2," and "Fallout Tactics." The games are set in the United States of America 200 years in the future. Nuclear war has nearly wiped out the human race and turned the world into an irradiated wasteland. You will recruit unique and useful companions and complete quests that affect the world around you. The style of the original title, first released in 1997, and the compelling plot make it well worth playing today. In the first two games, you control one character. You can fine-tune your character to be a cunning diplomat, a ruthless mercenary, or anything in between. These two titles feature a turn-based combat system. The games emphasize using skills and items to figure out puzzles. This role-playing game with open worlds allows the player to change the wasteland. How you play will change the world, for better or worse. In the first game, you travel through a bleak world as the Vault Dweller. Your primary mission is to replace a broken water chip in your home. As you search for the item, you will encounter all kinds of characters, from humans to mutants. Keep alert for radioactive animals as you solve puzzles and complete quests. You can find help from the Brotherhood of Steel, the Thieves' Guild, the Followers of the Apocalypse, and more. This title was developed and published by Interplay Entertainment. "Fallout 2" picks up 80 years after the first title. The publisher of the second installation is also Interplay Entertainment. However, with the second title, developer Black Isle Studios expands on its predecessor. It adds in more companions, a bigger world, and a more robust combat system. The story features twist after twist as you work to save the village of Arroyo. This hamlet is set in the nuclear desert that was once Oregon. The third title, "Fallout Tactics," deviates from its predecessors by becoming a real-time, combat-strategy oriented game. While it is set in the same universe, it does not follow the same story line as its two predecessors. This edition in the series is played by switching between several different characters to fight off your enemies. This is also the first "Fallout" title to feature a multi-player mode. Your team of survivors fights against the team of an opposing player. This game concentrates primarily on the battles. It swaps the role-playing game elements from the first two games for brain-busting strategic battles. This title was developed by Micro Forte and published by 14 Degrees East Bethesda Softworks. This classic anthology carries an M rating for Mature. The "Collections" pack is a physical disk with all three games on it. All of the games work on modern Windows operating systems, including Windows 7 and 10.

5 stars after figuring out the installation

I am running. Windows 7 and it took me a bit to get this game installed and running. Install fallout 2 first, then install fallout 1. This will help create the folders needed for the fallout 1 installer to work properly. Fallout tactics is a little different, just look for the launchfallouttactics file instead of the standard setup.exe. After all of this I got the game working perfect. Install some mods from the nexus and have a blast! Best 12$ I ever spent :)

Great game from what I’ve seen

It looks like a very good game, but I can’t get it to work properly. Normal game boots up, and after leaving the vault, I get a black screen glitch, rendering the game nearly unplayable. Trying to figure out a mod to fix this issue, but cannot find any working links to download websites. Still a good game, especially for the value, as long as you know how to mod games and edit files, or you don’t mind leaning how to.

  • If you loved them then, you'll love 'em now.

Exactly what you remember and love. If you've never tried them before, this is your chance. But be warned, everything about these games is addictive. Storylines. Gameplay. Everything. Don't say I didn't warn you. :)

  • Better than 76

Overall I had a pretty good time with the games especially Fallout 2. I found myself getting lost in it multiple times. Definitely worth the price.

  • Just started out (a month) into Fallout 1, but it's working well

It does work in Windows 10, though you do have to boot it twice to make it go. I haven't installed or tried the others, but will update in a couple of months after I finish One.
