best pocket amp i've ever owned, I've tried a few different brands BTW

decent effects, easy to use, nice sound! Just make sure you get rechargeable AAA batteries to pair with this so there's no need to buy batteries again. Personally I love my Vox Metal, I use it for practice almost everyday. That being said it's a great little amp for beginners and pros alike. You'll need some headphones or a speaker to hear the sound. I prefer Vox over Mugig because the tone and FX, but Mugig metal has a charging port so it's better in that regard that being said if you have the money buy the vox otherwise the mugig will work just fine if you just want a metal sound.

  • Great things come in small packages

For the metal or hard player this is a must have. There a plenty of times that I don't have the time or ability to bring my amp along with me but this little headphone amp is a game changer. I love how there is an immediate connection between what you're hearing and feeling as you play. I will say this, it's excellent for what it is but don't buy this with the idea that you're going to be able to chase the perfect tones, although you do get some pretty solid tones. Also using good headphones does make a difference in the overall sound quality (kind of common sense but still have to say it). I've been a Peavey player for over 20 years and I currently use a 6506+ 112 and I am definitely impressed with the tone of this little box. The effects are super cool and work really well, you can't change speed, rate, depth, or any of the normal stomp box controls but then again, it's not a pedal. Just enough for you to get the blueprints written out and then transfer those ideas. Overall I'd say if you're even slightly interested in one of these boxes, just do yourself a favor and get one. Skip on beer for a week and bam you'll be a headphone warrior! Hope this helps any of you fence sitting. Rock On m/

  • Impressive sound

I’ve got to give it to this little wonder, it is far more versatile than I had expected. Plugged it into my guitar and sounded great, plugged it directly into my mxr 6 band eq and then plugged my guitar in and wooooow. You would be shocked at the kind of tone you can get out of this little vox headphone amp.

  • The Metal Tone!!

This little Vox "METAL" guitar headphone amp is an excellent device for bringing back the metal sounds of the 80's and 90's. Searing lead tones and super punchy rhythm crunch that'll make you start playing Motley Crue, Metalica, Van Halen, and the like. Very enjoyable to play and super easy to use...Very nice additional Chorus and delay effects to give that extra spacial feeling to any riff to put out.... if you want the Metal sound that makes you sound like a "Rockstar" this is it... If your a lead player....check out the overtones you get out of this device!!! 2 Thumbs up!!

  • So much fun!!! Big improvement.

This is a big improvement over the first version, which I had and died out on me; so I decided to buy this one to replace it. Soundwise it's better, less synthetic (in normal mode, at least; not a big fan of "scooped mids" sounds), and not as compressed. The chorus, delay and reverb options are a nice touch if you want to play by yourself, but if you want to practice along with a song (which I mostly do, using it's aux in and my cell phone), those options might be not as useful. Anyway, I'm pretty satisfied with it. Too much bang for the buck, if you want a simple, portable and inexpensive device for late-night practice with headphones. Highly recommended.

  • Headphone Guitar Amp.

Not a bad product, sounds fine, works well, my only gripe is the price. 40 bones is a little high for what the Vox actually is. For 30.00 bones I'd recommend the Vox all day long. I gave the little amp 4 stars, you do need good earbuds for another 10 bones...

  • AWESOME!!

now I can play my Les Paul while watching a basketball game. Lots of sound options for a small device. I can plug my phone in as well and play along with songs. Very cool device. The only thing I would add is Bluetooth so I could eliminate the cord all together!!

  • Metal Up Your...

This is awesome. I don't really feel I play all that well without distortion, so this thing is just great. Tons of tone, plug it into a portable speaker and you even have an awesome practice amp!
