Reliable and easy to use
The Toshiba DKR40 is an excellent DVD recorder for the home user. It offers several resolution options depending on how much material you want to put on a disk. The DVD is pretty good but what got me is the easy to read remote.
I already have the Toshiba DR430. I have no problems with is so I decided to get another one or similar to the one I have to be placed in another room. What I like about the Toshiba is the remote. I replaced another brand with this Toshiba because the writing on the other companies remote was so tiny and cluttered together that I needed good reading glasses just to execute simple operations such as, 'Play, stop, rewind, fwd, etc.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Great picture and sound
This Toshiba DVD recorder has much better picture and sound than my Magnavox DVD recorder which are only 3 years apart in manufacturing date. It produces the same quality video as the video being recorded from. the only draw back is that it get real warm when in use as Toshiba didn't put in a muffin fan to cool the components. After I installed the muffin fan in the back where they place is provided it now runs real cool with no problems at all. I would buy another Toshiba if and when I need one.
