Just what I needed
This is just what I needed. A good solid desk phone for my office. Caller ID and speaker phone were a must and this has that plus an easy to see bigger screen and large but cheap feeling buttons. At first I thought the handset was a bit too big and ungainly but it has proven to be comfortable and easy to nest between my shoulder and ear if necessary. The speaker phone feature sounds a little muddy but still easy enough to hear. The high volume setting distorts the sound, so keeping it between 2 and 3 works best. The ringer volume is adjustable. Off, low, medium and high but the ring tone cannot be changed. It's not horrible though. I'm not alone in wishing the LCD readout was back-lit but I knew going in it wasn't. Nevertheless, the photos show a light bluish background. That is not the ... This is just what I needed. A good solid desk phone for my office. This phone comes with a wall mounting bracket, but mine is happy sitting right on my desk, taking up a fraction of the space recently occupied my an old, cumbersome and obsolete FAX machine.

We use this as a wall phone. The included attachment by which one affixes the phone to the wall makes it stick further out than is necessary so it will be easier to bump as we pass by. Also, the wall attachment is not very strong and secure, so I do not anticipate that it will last very long. Further, we keep getting "Missed Call" messages on the display even when we have actually answered the call. We've learned to ignore them, but the purpose for the notification is defeated by its unreliability. Good sound input and output, and easy to read display. The buttons are enormous, so expect your kids to give you a hard time about getting old - though I have no idea what they are talking about. Remember when AT&T used to make top of the line stuff? The sound that you hear while talking has a hint of reverb. The LCD characters are large on the screen, but are hard to read at any angle other than straight on. A lamp on my desk makes it much easier to read the characters. There is no answering machine on the phone. The phone has a good amount weight to it, and it stays in place on the desk, even though the cord is pretty short. A slightly longer cord will probably be desired by most people. Good phone for a well lit area!
This phone is ideal for an office setting or home use where there is ample light. By the backlit version to be able to see at night or if low light. Ideal for anyone w/ vision problems, large numbers and buttons makes it easy to use. Buy three backlit version for home use!
