Here come the Pale Riders, on the 13th year of the Apocalypse
2013 reunion album purposely emulating Black Sabbath's first four. That's a good thing. It is most satisfying to listen to. If, like me, you always felt Sabbath ought to have had one more great album in the original vein, then this is probably something you would be interested in listening to. Whether you find this music to be a poor imitation of their own work, or a welcome addition to the eldritch bloom of their original canon I leave to your own sensibility. If you expect this to be a throwback sellout done by rickety old guys then you might sneer, or again you may be surprised to find out that, after so much tired and thrashed stuff the members have done in the new century, they can pull off something together that is refreshingly not annoying. Based on reviews I expected it to be ... 2013 reunion album purposely emulating Black Sabbath's first four. That's a good thing. It is most satisfying to listen to. It's not toe-tapping pop joy like the early chart-toppers, but it's good n heavy, and Ozzie hasn't sounded this good in many many years. I'm in no way embarrassed for them on this. Yes, Bill the Drummer is missing. Well, as Dylan sang, "You can always come back, but you can't come back all the way." Recommend the edition with four extra tracks, or as many extra as you can locate. They are all solid.

Must have album!
Probably the best hard rock/heavy metal album released in at least 20 years. This is my 4th issue of this album/cd as I have played it continuously since I bought it days after it's release over a decade ago. Transferring it from my main MONSTER stereo (4 old school Klipsch towers driven by a huge Yamaha stereo amplifier) to my basement stereo, to my deck stereo and in whatever vehicle I am driving at that time tends to mark up any disc which eventually can't be repolished well enough to eliminate flaws that cause the dreaded skip/repeat flaws common to scratched CD 's. Probably the best hard rock/heavy metal album released in at least 20 years. Great ending for a great band. One of their best.
This an awesome cd by Black Sabbath. The bonus cd contains some of the best songs on the cd. I would recommend getting the Deluxe version.
