Like any serger, the Husqvarna Viking Huskylock 910 makes a great companion to a regular sewing machine. But unlike some basic machines, this one offers a bit more in terms of quality and features. Equipped with a 2/3/4 thread interlock system this machine should be sufficient for most household uses. Making it more convenient to operate than some less expensive model is the sewing advisor which suggests stitch lengths and widths for the job, recommends which needle to use, what tension to apply, and how to set the differential feed. It saves the user trial and error. Settings can be saved in one of 50 memories so it is ready to go each time you return to this task. On this machine, you're also paying extra for the differential feed. This feature keeps seams from stretching and puckering--a common problem with sergers. The differential feed is also useful for gathering. A solid-built machine, consider this one if the puckering of cheaper machines is bothersome or you need the extra guidance the sewing advisor can offer. I took mine in for service and the technician said "hold on to this one - it is better than the newer ones!"Read full review
i did alot of research on the huskylock sergers. i decided that if i wanted a coverstitch option i would buy a stand alone machine. this machine is like a dream. tight and precise stitches easy to thread and the sewing advisor is very nice at giving correct stitch tensions etc. I would highly recommend this machine or the 905 or 936 depending on how many bells and whistles you may prefer. i have only had 1 other serger but this one is all i will ever need!! plus many reviews say these machines are better built than the new versions and at these used machine prices you CAN'T beat them :)
Well I've had my 910 for 6 months. Before that I had a 905 for a year. Both were very lightly used machines when I purchased them. Stitch quality is fabulous, sew rolled hems excellently, as well as Lycra, and regular wovens. I am a lifelong seamstress and Viking fan and owner, and know how to thread and run the machines. Both of them died unexpectedly. Very, very disappointed, to say the least. I think I'll contact Viking directly and express my feelings to them as well.

I have been trying to get one of these on my budget. Very happy to have found this. I have not had time to use all of her features yet but hope to get some time soon. She is finicky but very worth taking the time to learn. Stitch quality is very good. She arrived quickly in very good condition. Very pleased.

This serger is awesome! I bought it used and it has worked like a dream. I agree with another reviewer that it may be older, but it's better! It is very, very easy to use because of the preset features. I can't say enough good things about this machine. I am so happy with it!
