Great subject, needs better casting.
The Super Jeep conversion is very nice, very complete, and a great subject. However, for all of the wonderful sculpting and detail, a fair number of the parts suffer from poor mold alignment. This is most evident on the pipe frames that make up a large part of this conversation. These are all poorly molded, and will need to be replaced with plastic or brass tube. The weapons mount also has the same problem with molding, and is warped as well. The wheels, which also form a major part of this vehicle, suffer from a lot of flash, and misshapen wheel spokes. The seats, and jump seats, as well as the weapons and accessories are amazing. Nothing here will stop me from building this, as it's a great step up from the long ago Kirin conversion from the 90s, but for what you pay for this, Black Dog ... Really, Really Bad.
Some of the worst castings I have seen from Blackdog and highly disappointeed. I have used their products before and thought they were the best in the business. I don't remember their stuff being this bad. Castings are rough, wheels are more oblong than round and very noticeable. The seam around the tires is so bad that cleaning it up would require the removal of most of the tread pattern which is a shame because it is a nice tread pattern, Roll cage is warped and useless.Not recommended because the wheels are such a vital part of this kit. Most of the stuff in the kit is useless and would have to be scratch-built which means an additional modern weapons set would have to be purchased of you have none in your spare box.
