I bought this secondhand to fit into my 17 year old son's first car (1999 Corsa), which had a hole where stereo had been taken out. He used CDs but mainly MP3 player, so was looking for cheap CD stereo with MP3 input, if possible. Also, wanted a known brand. This ticked all the boxes. Fitted it quite easily, but needed an aerial adapter (bought one off Ebay) as the old Corsa isn't what I call a standard connection. The item looks good with red display. It can play really load if you want it to. The reception on MW channels (e.g TALK SPORT) are poor, but I guess that might be the aerial. FM statition are perfect. The CD is great and the MP3 input is brilliant. I had to buy a seperate case for the removable CD cover. I would have expected one with the unit. All in all, good value for money. Incidentally, heer's a fitting tip. I had to swap the red and yellow bullet connections wires around in the supplied harness, as I was losing the radio preseets when I took key out of ignition. It only took seconds to do, but found this fix on one of the online forums for thisd unit. All in all, good value for money.Read full review
Bought this item as a replacement for the same model currently in our car, which didn't survive a shower of apple juice from the cup holder that sits above!! Not it's fault. The CDX GT-100 is easy to use, reasonable quality, and I love being able to plug my MP3 player in. Easy to fit too. Only thing I don't like is the reception on MW is pretty rubbish, but that may be because the guy who fitted the original reckoned we wouldn't need the optional extra arial thingy. Maybe he was wrong. All in all, would recommend this model, if you're not looking for a top of the range all singing all dancing sound system, just something to ease the boredom of sitting in the traffic jam that is Britain's roads.
This CD player has been installed into our caravan and it is excellent. Easy to use and set up with no instructions! I would recommend this CD player.
