I absolutely love Witchblade. Anime has a tendency to take itself much too seriously. Most series are a hassle to get through after the first few episodes, and the writers fill the twenty to thirty minutes with superfluous junk that becomes long winded and tedious. Witchblade does an amazing job of keeping the story light from the very beginning. It knows that the majority of its appeal comes from women bouncing around fighting one another in outfits that would make any school-boy blush. That's not to say it is completely shallow, or shallow at all. The story moves well without the melodrama that can bog down a good series. The action sequences are entertaining, but don't bounce back and forth with the combatants insulting one another for half an episode before someone actually does something. I was afraid that the daughter character, Rihoko, would wear on my nerves eventually, but she was a joy to see interacting with all the many other colorful and lively characters. I actually found myself looking forward to seeing all the other characters as much as the partially nude Masane, who is the wielder of the Witchblade. The series doesn't make excuses for itself, and remembers to have fun at all times. The art is superb. The voice acting is top-notch. Witchblade, as whole, is a great addition to any Anime collection.Read full review
Witchblade began as a comic book in the US but was eventually remade as a futuristic anime series. It follows the story of Masane Amaha and her daughter rihoko as they return to Tokyo 6 years following a devastating earthquake. Masane has amnesia and unknown 2 her, she acquired the Witchblade, an ancient weapon of immense power, 6 years ago during the quake. Its a great story about about an ordinary woman thrown into an extraordinary situation. Once she discovers the witchblade, she works as a mercenary to provide for her daughter until she ultimately sacrifices her life to protect her from it! The animation is amazing, the characters are intriguing, the women are sexy and the action is tempered by humor. I love it because its visually appealling and because the story reminds you that regular people can do amazing things when they have no choice.Read full review
Love the graphics of the WitchBlade series. The story line on a few episodes was a little slow but the action and characters made up for it.

I first saw this on TV, and it came on after another show that I was watching and I rather enjoyed the sexy woman fighting with a blade. Unfortunately I only got to catch a couple episodes before they took it off air, but it stayed in my mind for about 3 years until I finally decided to buy it. After seeing the whole show i'm happy to say it was well worth it. There are a lot of really touching moments throughout the show, most were mother-daughter ones.
Worth the money look forward to more business.
