Did a load of research online before going for this router. When i first got the unit it required a firmware update which was automatic. Setup was a breeze, all clear on screen instructions. The WIFI signal is amazing and you can select channel 13 (not used by many other routers) this meant a very strong clean signal. The only complaint I do have is that the Lan cables come straight out the side of the unit and the power connector is a right angle type which can get in the way when you lay the unit flat. It's a stylish, very functional and easy to use. There probably is better out there but you would have to spend ALOT more to get one and even then it probably wont be as easy to use. I highly recommend it. Features 2.4 Ghz & 5 Ghz frequencies, Signal boosting technology, Gigabite Lan, Nas function. Great piece of kit :)Read full review
One of the best routers made by ASUS. Install Padavan firmware. Has good VPN support and works with nearly every USB 4g modem made. The wifi is fine, but I use one of these with the wifi turned off, and 3xUNIFI AP's connected via powerline adapters for WIFI instead. If you never want to hear moaning about wifi again, use the above setup.

Allowed me to install Padavan firmware and run a few guest wireless networks and choose my own DNS. Excellent.

Great router, pretty easy set up. Works with isp modem/routers so you can have some things connected to isp router and others through this one at the same time. So you can run a vpn and a normal connection at the same time. Brilliant.

This replaced my old Belkin N1 Vision, my internet use to drop out every few days and was constantly rebooting. The Asus has been rock solid, Get very good signal all round the house, more than the belkins 3 external atennas! I am using all 4 WANS,2 wireless pcs, and mobiles, and connection has been steady. The only thing i have not tested is the 5ghz mode, have no adapters compatible on my pcs!
