Bought the movie for Mr. Butler. It was good, not very scary, but that's not really what I was looking for/expecting. He was scary in a few scenes when he was attacking 'guys' & Mary @ the end. He's a great actor & if you simply want an hour or so to gaze @ him in wonder - this is great. He's gorgeous & his personality off set makes him that much better looking. The special features are fun; especially what he says when he's 'thrown' out of the water in the one scene that was really cool & shouldn't have been cut from the final version. Movie arrived as advertised; new, unwrapped & in the box.
Dracula, the most famous vampire to be known, is imprisoned and hidden away. Thiefs break in and steal him. They accidently awaken the vampire. In the process Dracula is set loose on the world searching for the one. This one is another like him born part immortal. Van Helsing using leeches to leech Dracula's blood then injects the taken blood into himself. Then he has a child who also carries that blood in her. She is the one Dracula has been waiting for. What will happen to her? Watch this and find out.
Such a KILLER version! I mean, using the idea of Dracula being Judas (whom, if you recall, betrayed Jesus...thus my meaning of KILLER!!!), totally personifies the character of Dracula. Totally screwed from day 1, and left to live a life of total seclusion...but the movie shows his passion and lust to live...I give it 6 out of 5 stars...The soundtrack is incredible! I truly believe Slayer fits this soundtrack much better than anyone else........ It's truly hard to decide which version (this, or Bram Stoker's Dracula) is better...But ANY vampire fan that does not own either of these classics is truly missing out!!!!!!! Oh, to be a creature of the night... (These movies truly make you wish to be...)...
Judas sold Jesus to the Temple High Priests for 30 pieces of silver, which was equal to, I believe one million $ dollars USA in todays value. This dvd shows a very interesting spin on the betrayal. Judas was possessed by a demon & paid for his crimes by being turned into a blood-thristy Vempire for enternty. Cheers: Chuck:

While not the best known of the more modern vampire stories, this movie boasts an impressive cast, and takes the legend of Dracula in a slightly different direction. With Gerard Butler as the title character, Christopher Plummer as the hunter Van Helsing, and sporting a supporting cast including Johnny Lee Miller, Jennifer Esposito, and Jeri Ryan, the film takes the classic story not only into the modern era, but also to New Orleans for the fateful showdown. The film plays on several elements of the original story that tend to be ignored, starting with the raw seductive aura of Dracula, and playing with his desire for chaos and fear. Notable changes from the legend include a quest for revenge, the cost a vampire hunter must pay, and the true identity of the Prince of Darkness. If you're a vampire fan, a horror fan (although no splatter fest, this movie does have blood and shocking deaths), or a fan of pretty much any of the cast of this film, I'd recommend it.
