    Wowsers Under the C6 Hood

The wing emblem arrived quickly and was securely packaged. Instructions were good. The kit included everything needed for a good install. The wing logo itself is good quality steel; very smooth, even around the edges. The emblem photo was of very good quality and quite colorful, matching the Vette logo colors pretty well. Installation was a snap because I followed the enclosed instructions to a T. It is not necessary to smear the 2-part epoxy all over the back of the emblem, just in the 4 spots noted. I did add a bunch of wieght to the metal emblem after I had pressed it in place within the outlines of the embossed hood insulator, which did have to come off to make the application go easier. The only improvement I can suggest is that the polished stainless acorn nuts could be eliminated in ...

    Needs better attachment method.

Removed the hood liner, placed flat on floor, used the supplied adhesive to attach the logo plate to the hood liner. Stood on the plate for 30 minutes. Let sit for three hours. Then drilled the three holes and added the bolts and nuts. Let sit overnight. Reinstalled the hood liner, everything looked great. After a few days, the metal plate pulled away from the hood liner, now I have a big gap behind the plate. I can easily put a paper towel down behind the logo plate (see photo). I plan to remove the whole thing, find some better glue and try again. Maybe put a slight bend in the metal logo plate to match the curve of the hood.

  • Looks great, fits great with a little tweaking

Nice item, coming with detailed instructions and two part epoxy, made of heavy metal. I removed the hood liner, it comes off easy using a trim tool, and with out damage to the plugs so they can be reused. The emblem is flat the hood liner is NOT, so to make the emblem fit the recess you need to bend it, the arrows in the pic show were I bent mine, I went slow and used my upper thigh and kept checking fitment. The instructions call for 4 locations of epoxy, I took an extra step and used a bead of construction adhesive, all the way around the edge, far enough in so there was no danger of it being pressed out. Then I applied weight and let it cure for 24 hours. I also installed the hardware. Make sure you bend it for fitment.

  • Fit and finish as advertised.

This was as advertised, fit and finish was excellent. Just follow instructions for epoxy and make sure to put weight on each end of emblem once epoxied on hood liner, let sit for an hour or so, attached hardware and your good to go. Even with engine heat and AZ heat no issues so far.

  • My own installation plan.

Beautiful colors. I hand formed it to fit the hood liner. It fits nicely. I installed the 3 bolts and it sets just right. For further peace of mind, I am going to epoxy it in. My plan is to scuff up the back side with fine sandpaper. Then I will put sand in a contractor’s trash bag to form for a mold. This will hold the form of the liner when I epoxy emblem to it. I plan to lay a towel over the emblem, then place another sand bag over the towel. I will add some weights to the sand bag and let it sit overnight.
