If you are installing this HEI conversion distributor on a big block Ford 429/460 you will need Dorman part# 902-1033 water neck for clearance and you will still have grind the bottom of the distributor ever so slightly to get it to clear the water neck. As for the actual distributor it appears to be good quality with a nice fit and finish. Unfortunately I cannot tell you how it runs because my engine is sitting on an engine stand currently but it sure looks pretty lol

HEI Distributor for a 1976 Ford 460. You will need a new water neck for space and I added a 2" spacer under my chrome air filter because my air filter hit the top of the HEI. With the HEI being bigger and taller the air cleaner being 2" higher does a nice job of keeping it all in proportion of course I had room under the hood. This HEI was an easy install and woke this engine up! Fires as soon as I touch the key and runs like a champ.
