Patrick Troughton teams up with Colin Baker in this out-of-print DVD. Although often panned (somewhat justly) for its excesses, Troughton plays the Second Doctor well, and it is regrettably the last time Troughton would appear on Doctor Who before his untimely death. The best actors in this episode are the companions Frazier Hines (Jamie) and Nicola Bryant (Peri), whose outfit makes up for the worst parts of the show (and these unfortunately are glaring).

I've been looking for this DVD forever. The Region 1 version of this DVD has been out of print for over 5 years and thus extremely hard to find. When I was able to locate it, it was extremely expensive (I'm talking roughly $200 US). At the price I bought it for here on eBay, it was quite a bargain. Though I'm not a big fan of this Doctor Who era in general, the presence of the Second Doctor and Jamie is classic and makes it more enjoyable; I have to admit they're a big reason why I had to get this DVD. The extras are also very much worth it - the audio commentaries and the "making of" documentaries are very interesting and entertaining.

I am personally a Whovian. sure there are Star Wars fans, and Star Trek fans, but I have always found Doctor Who to be the greatest of them all, especially with over 15 years of episodes to watch. here is a time Lord with the power to do anything he wants, and he goes around the galaxy saving the universe, and his pet people us earthlings as well. of course the quality of action is not what you expect in today's movies, but overall these are some great classics and I suggest you add them to your archive today, and help the tradition continue.
Patrick Troughton's last, and he acted with Colon Baker, this was a very dramatic, funny, and actionable story. I loved it. Though, Frazier Hines who reprises the role of Jamie, is clearly too old for the part. A must for any Dr. Who fan's collection. Rod.
