PROS: The device is engineered to prevent tangling and make winding your paracord a bit easier. + It does keep your paracord on a spool which serves to keep it tidy. + The cutter works well for tying poles (rafts / shelters) or other tasks requiring smaller lengths without needing to deploy your knife or multi-tool. CONS: - Does not WIND or REEL - it does not work like a fishing reel or a 100' wind-up tape measure. It appeared the TRD could be easily modified to WIND UP - but it was not as plausible once I received it. To wind up, one must take the unit apart (3 pieces) and remove the spool to wind by hand. Additionally, the tabs (clips) keeping the two-part housing together re difficult to use - NOTE if you do, use the smallest tab at right-top of the unit, and the others will follow. I can see the release tabs breaking in a year or less under continued use. - The construction does not keep paracord dry. It does add to the water resistance when using The viewer slot is a convenient feature - but requires a flashlight to see contents, - Belt clip could have been designed with more forethought - to adapt to 3" web belts as well as pants belts or tactical models. your paracord in adverse weather - but could have a better seam where molded. Whether or not this item can take a beating when worn or dropped on rock or concrete - has yet to be determined, but the concept is innovative in itself - as it does what it is intended to do. Could be INGENIOUS if a winder crank and cord sweeper were added to the design.Read full review
