    Not needed, but a lesson learned.

    i never had a chance to install this part, because the mechanic tested the new outside handle, and it was working perfectly with the original latch still in place. He did, however, say that the installation is complicated because the window raising and lowering mechanism has to be removed temporarily to replace the latch. Therefore, this is not a trivial do-it-yourself repair, so beware of doing this yourself.
