  • No fan of Kingston, but ...

    ... when you're in need of a matching pair from a very short list of modules? You take whatever you can find. And, when buying from here? It'd be best to see pictures of every stick -- wound up w/ 1/2 of 2 different pairs, which rarely ever works as dual channel. Unfortunately, most manufacturers will change the ICs used w/o not telling anyone (i.e. the model numbers typically remain unchanged )-;~ These particular stick are both old 'n slow, and I did get a pair of Corsair's extreme performance for little of nothing ... there's no reason to ever buy 'cheap' memory, despite the fact I did initially, but for less than ten bucks? It gave me a few days to overclock and 'dial in' my settings. When selecting the best memory for your needs? There's speed (the frequency, e.g. 1600, 1800, 2400, ...
