It is unfortunate that Dodge recalled 300,000 automatic Dodge Darts with defective shift cable design placement; BUT DID NOT do the same on the manual shift Dodge Dart. As mentioned in email many Dart Forums and Dart owners have opted for an aftermarket heat shield to offset and preserve their shift cable and bushings. Hope this helps!
