I contacted the seller who said it must have got snagged on something and unclipped as they are designed to do. I totally understand that but it is odd how he hasnt lost his old collar in the last four years but manages to get sufficiently snagged up the first time he wears his new one? Seller claimed to have sold 1000s and never had a problem and refused to replace.
