Product Information

Don Johnson stars as homicide detective Jerry Beck, a very different law-enforcement type than his career-making role in television's MIAMI VICE. Because of his dedication to his work, Jerry's personal life has disintegrated, and he's in the throes of a divorce. On Christmas Eve, an African American storekeeper is murdered, and, minutes later, an L.A. cop also goes down; Jerry is assigned to both cases. His research turns up the name Bobby Burns (Frank Military), a member of a white-supremacist organization who's currently on his way to a mass gathering of like-minded hate junkies in Oklahoma. The detective's investigation is joined by FBI agent Kressler (William Forsythe), a by-the-book type who does little but get in Jerry's way. Because of his sometimes unorthodox methods, Jerry is asked by his commander to be cleared for duty by the police psychiatrist or be taken off the case. When he can't stop laughing because he thinks the man looks like Woody Allen, it seems that Jerry's days on the case are numbered. DEAD BANG, loosely based on a true story, is a fun, tongue-in-cheek cop melodrama held together by Johnson's entertaining performance.

    Dead Bang Review.

    Have seen this before and wanted dvd for collection. Great crime drama that doesn't follow the familiar formulaic path one sees alot. The hero(Don Johnson) struggles against obstacles within law enforcement as well as the bad guys. Also has great director John Frankenhammer(movies include The Manchurian Candidate, The Train, Seven Days In May, and Ronin). Dead Bang's plot takes several twists and turns and the hero receives a bit of a surprise at the climax. Definitely entertaining and from a few years before the internet and cell phones. I thoroughly recommend it.

    Good movie

    I love this movie. I'm finding that this DVD release (and maybe all of them) does not have the complete ending to this movie. It ends in Colorado with the sheriff and Jerry Beck. The actual film (I have seen it) ends in LA with Jerry and the widow of the slain deputy. I don't understand why this is left out. I would really like to get a DVD of the entire movie which includes the last 5 minutes or so.

    Good movie

    Interesting tale about Don Johnson and the other law enforcement going after a group of White Supremacists.Brings back memories of groups like the Aryan Nations and others.Now these organizations are being clamped down on so minorities can take over the running of the U.S. Sad.
