Good vs. Great, Volume 1 vs. Volume 2
Originally, I bought this book because I absolutely loved the first volume and couldn't wait to find out what was next for our doomed hero, his somehow likeable nemesis and the rest of the diversified and colorful cast that played a part in this epic. You can't say too many good things about All Star Superman Vol. 1. It hit the spot in so many ways! In my mind, it was the perfect Superman tale (or among the best at least) with a lot of story, depth, heart, and nostalgia. That being said, this second volume was kind of a let down. I built it up in my mind based on how much I enjoyed Volume 1. This was a good follow up but I was expecting great. I was expecting new heights and I don't feel that it went there, that it was as moving or clever as it's predecessor. As I ...
