    This transaction was decent overall. The book was described as "new" and yet it obviously was not. However, it was still in very nice condition, so no big deal I suppose. The packaging left a lot to be desired though and I was surprised that the book arrived relatively undamaged.

    Maybe not the best resource for successful gardening.

    I was disappointed in the book itself because I was looking for a specific garden recipe to keep bugs off green beans. A friend said she read a book by Jerry Baker but couldn't remember the title. I took a chance it may be this one and now I have a book I don't want anymore. However! since I have it, eventually I'll read it to find out potentially other useful advice on successful vegetable gardening. I don't like the style of Baker's books, however, so will not buy one of his again. It's like he writes his thoughts down and that's how the book is formatted.

    Fast, easy, amusing read!

    I like Jerry Baker's approach to gardening. It is an easy, no nonsense, I-am-telling-you-everything-I-know approach. He doesn't just tell you to do something with your plants, he tells you the secret behind it too. If he says to put epsom salt on a plant he tells you that it 'thickens the petal, deepens the color and increases root structure' Also he tells you preventative things and does not shun, or criticize other methods that he does not use personally. I bought this book, because I have several others by him that I thoroughly enjoy and thought it would have some good information too. It does!

    Wonderful book.

    Great book as always , he's a very knowelegable person in Gardening.Things you wanted to know in charts for quick referense on the spot.Seems to be good and intuitive to peoples problems that might arise in all phases of Gardening.It has everything you would want to know and need to succed in any part of having a beautifull Garden.

    GREAT INFO THAT YOU MAY NEVER GET FROM ANY OTHER BOOK!

    I PURCHASED THIS BOOK BECAUSE I FIGURED IT HAS BITS OF INFO RELATING TO VEGGIE GARDENS THAT I DIDN'T KNOW. I WAS RIGHT! IT IS A GREAT BOOK. I AM STILL LEARNING ABOUT VEGGIES AFTER GARDENING FOR 40 YEARS. BETTER BOOKS FROM JERRY THAN MOST THAT I HAVE COME ACROSS.

    Great book on growing Vegis!

    My husband likes this book so much, that he's been checking it out of the library for months! I decided it would be a good purchase! He's learned a lot of tricks for growing vegetables in our 'victory' garden!
