Excellent for this collection
As a whole, this is an excellent collection of the songs that represent rodeo and the cowboy life in general. There are songs here that represent the past 50 years with many of them being extremely hard to find outside of this collection. My husband wanted this CD and we listened to it on a 4 hour trip and were delighted. We laughed and we sang along. Wow, some of those "oldies" are amazing....I can't believe people actually listened to them more than once !!! but hey, music has evolved and it is an enjoyable journey to witness it with this cd. I think it is a MUST for all country/western listeners. But, buy it on ebay for a better price than advertised in Cowboys and Indians magazine...cheaper shipping, too !!! The title says it all.
The three disc set covers the greats of Western and Country Western music - from Gene Autry to Brooks & Dunn. Some of the songs are a little too "Old Timey" for me (like the guy howling like a coyote), but overall, its a great set to put on the cd player for a party and just have fun. The Outlaws do their rendition of Ghost Riders that is fabulous and Suzy B does a great cover of Someday Soon.
