Brighten The Corner Where You Are
Few albums have stuck with me like Wake of the Flood. Thirty years on it's still my friend, steady & reliable. Many consider American Beauty the quintessential Grateful Dead album but Wake of the Flood touches me more personally than any of the others. A blues band? You bet, but with more. Wistful sorrow offset with the sudden relief of hopefulness. Moody but successfully struggling to see the sunny side of life. That's Wake of the Flood. Smooth, some of the best Gratful Dead music, IMO. Would get the CD for the songs "Here Comes The Sunshine" and "Weather Report Suite" alone...worth every penny. Highly recommend this little gem if you love the Dead!
