About this product

Product Information

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER* A superbly crafted novel, Family Tree asks penetrating questions about family and the choices people make in times of crisis. " Family Tree is warm, rich, textured, and impossible to put down." --Nora Roberts For as long as she can remember, Dana Clarke has longed for the stability of home and family. Now she has married a man she adores, whose heritage can be traced back to the Mayflower, and she is about to give birth to their first child. But what should be the happiest day of her life becomes the day her world falls apart. Her daughter is born beautiful and healthy, and in addition, unmistakably African-American in appearance. Dana's determination to discover the truth about her baby's heritage becomes a shocking, poignant journey.

  • FAMILY TREE

FAMILY TREE is not the best book by Ms. Delinsky. I am not sure she researched her subject thoroughly enough, but it simply didn't live up to my expectations. I disliked Hugh, the husband. Self righteous when it came to HIS family, especially demanding a DNA test on the baby to see if Dana had been cheating on him with a black man. Dana was also on the shallow side when she discovered who her father was after all this time and then the way she acted toward him. The neighbor was also a nasty piece of work with his whining. I can't recommend this book. There are others out there that have delved into this subject matter with expertise and grace. I gave it a below average because the writing was still well done, just not the subject matter.

  • Very American Story

I have recommended this book to friends. This is the story of every American family, who has been here more than a generation. The only question is how deeply the secrets are hidden. Enjoy.
