Karaoke Revolution Party is a cross-platform edition of Konami's sing-along simulator, designed to turn any GameCube, Xbox, or PlayStation 2 into a working karaoke machine with a library of 50 popular songs. As in previous releases in the series, players sing into a headset microphone controller and the game analyzes their performances according to pitch and rhythm. In the single-player version of this game, players can unlock new characters, accessories, and venues with good performances. Multiplayer modes offer a variety of mini-games and singing challenges.<br><br>New to the spin-off Karaoke Revolution series is support for a Dance Dance Revolution floor mat controller, and some modes of play challenge performers to not only sing, but also dance along with the song being played, following onscreen prompts. Additionally, the Xbox version of Karaoke Revolution Party offers online features through the Xbox Live service. Great game, but could've easily been better.
Very good game, could've been better, however. How? The singers voices aren't as similar to the original vocalists as in the first version, several of the tunes selected could've been more popular songs from that artist. Very little rock and roll, making it more difficult to motivate the boyz to sing! I thought they overemphasized 80's new wave music and under emphasized the metal and classic rock. Otherwise, a very good game. All flaws aside, it is definitely worth the $$$. On the positive side, I love the duet feature of the game. I also appreciate that the menu music rotates, nice. Character features and options improved upon. Some of the layout changes are just that, changes, not really an improvement. Again, overall a very good value. Great but some of songs are not for everyone
I bought this for my family. I have 3 kids under 10. They love to sing and they love this game. I was a bit disappointed with it though that it says that it's for everyone. Some of the songs have subjects though that I would rather them not sing about. It's not as bad as Karyoke Revolution that has Madanna's Like A Virgin but it's the same type of idea. At least this one says E for everyone with a 10+ on top of it. That really isn't everyone though is it? I guess that my suggestion would be to listen to the songs first and find out if you need to put limits on younger ones singing certain songs. The back cover gives some of the songs but not all of them. Otherwise, it's pretty fun. The songs are a bit tough to sing and maybe not always like you know them exactly but overall fun. ... Karaoke Revolution is Awesome!
This game is SO fun! My husband and I bought this because we love singing karaoke (and consider ourselves to be pretty good!). This game is so much more than just karaoke...and really you don't have to be a great singer to be good at the game! It's so engaging that we have even gotten all of our "shy" friends to play this game with us. The graphics are great and there is a wide variety of song choices (and you can get an awesome song selection if you buy the download from Xbox Live). I highly recommend this game to anyone who likes to sing (and even those who don't!)This game is SO fun! I LOVE THIS GAME!!! I PURCHASED THIS SET BECAUSE I NEEDED ANOTHER MICROPHONE AND TO MY GREAT SURPRISE THE GAME IS BETTER THAN THE ONE I ALREADY OWNED! THERE ARE MANY OPTIONS TO PLAY DIFFERENT GAMES AND HOW MANY PLAYERS! GREAT FOR YOUR KIDS OR WITH YOUR FRIENDS. THESE SONGS ARE AWESOME
