Pros: - It's a mobile computer with optics. Nuff said. - The resolution is amazingly high, has small field of view (FOV) but I'm okay with that. Here's what people need to understand: the media and consumers generally like to talk about the importance of wide FOV but having high resolution eliminates the screen door effect which wide FOV does not do. It will take some time to figured out how to make good optics with both wide FOV and high resolution, which is the holy grail for optics. - Latency is almost non-existent. For a computer with optics, a variety of sensors and many processing that needs to be done in one single device, this is very impressive. - No cooling fans because the hardware inside won't require any kind of cooling. Which means Hololens is noise free and safe to use. Now that's quality engineering right there. - Depending on your application, developing for Hololens is not that difficult; developers are expected to learn Unity, familiarity with Visual Studio and also computer graphics if you want to do advanced stuff. - My professor who is a pioneer in AR research lauded Hololens as a product that's 10 years ahead of its time. I totally agree with him. - Voice recognition is good. - Quality solid product build and design. Cons: - Feels slightly heavy but not so detrimental. You've got to mount the headset in such a way that it wont give you a headache. - Battery drains very quickly. - The gaze and hand gesture interaction is very limiting, considering if you want to do more than just air tapping or opening your palm. Some of you might be thinking Meta 2 dev kit is better but unfortunately that device's overall specs is nowhere nearly as impressive as compared to Hololens. - No hand occlusion. The screen will always appear in front of your hand. - Expensive. But it's a mobile computer with optics so I can't argue with the price. **My verdict: 9/10. Truly a magnificent product.**Read full review
