The Panasonic LUMIX DMC-GF5 is a 12.1 MP digital camera that utilizes the quick autofocus capabilities of the Contrast AF focusing system. The Contrast AF system allows the Panasonic camera body to capture fast moving subjects automatically without the blur associated with normal autofocus systems. The Panasonic camera body is capable of capturing full 1080i high-definition video and stereo audio in AVCHD format, which allows easy playback on most audiovisual equipment. The black Panasonic LUMIX DMC-GF5 has an intelligent auto mode that assists the photographer by automatically adjusting contrast and exposure settings to produce the most vivid and crisp images possible under the given environmental conditions. The Panasonic camera body measures 69 mm (2.7 inches) deep, 74 mm (2.9 inches) wide, 69 mm (2.7 inches) tall, and weighs in at a mere 91 g (3.2 oz), making the 12.1 MP digital camera compact and lightweight. A touch-enabled LCD display allows the user instant access to menu and shooting options with the touch of a finger.

    Light, well built, large sensor.

    The sensor size is one of the reasons I bought this Panasonic GF5. The looks and weight are also important factors which this camera is both light and well built. Controls are easy to find and operate. LCD is bright and not too sensitive. In short this camera has a lot of potentials and it all depends on type of lens you have. I am using Lumix 14-42mm f3.5-5.6 for now and am learning my way it.
