  • A good read for those who love too much.

I was compelled to know more about Greg Louganis, after watching some diving on a Saturday morning TV. I bought the book and the movie based on his life. Wow, what a life he lead. We all go up with challenges of different types, but he had a few that he went about making more difficult for himself. I think he and his co-writer did it well writing this book in chronological order. I think he wanted to make a point to others not be passive and ignorant with their personal lives and environment. He made diving the primary element of his life, to keep him from focusing on being gay, and later being HIV positive. He has had courage but has gone about his life more concerned about the perceptions of others, at the expense of his own peace.

  • The Greg Louganis Story -- Winning the Game of Life

Inspiring story of a shy young man who overcame dyslexia and the disadvantages of being gay, to set Olympic records and win honor for his country. Greg Louganis managed to achieve diving excellence through great talent and a single-minded effort.

  • Best inspiring book ever read!

Years ago, I bought this book and read it in a week while vacationing in Puerto Rico. I LOVED this inspirational true story about how Greg with pride and dignity dealt with his adoption and being gay but most of all how his true intergrity came out with dealing with an abusive relatioship and his HIV status. I loved the book so much that I wanted to share it with others and gave it to a friend as a gift. I missed having this book in my collection that I bought it once again. One does not know the true meaning of self respect until he/she reads this book. I recommend it 120%!

  • Wonderful

this book is very touching. even if the reader is not gay or hiv+ you can not help it when it touches you in a few spots you even have tears in your eyes. this is a true to life story about a boy growing up and becoming a man faced with the fact that he is adopted and gay and after he becomes a man when he is about to break the all time record in olympic history he finds out he has AIDS . you will have to read this book to see how it turns out. you will not be dissappointed.

  • What you thought you knew

I grew up watching Greg Louganis platform diving and admired his skill and wondered about the rumors of his sexual orientation. The autobiography aided my understanding of the difficult life he endured and the overcoming attitude that Greg displayed. Although I personally disagree with his personal choices I still came to admire the man.
