fast shipping. Seller has trouble with descriptions. Open Box does not imply *USED*. The box looked newer than the handset. phone was already registered to a different base and battery would not charge. Lucky for the seller, I only needed it for parts and was able to reset the handset to factory settings (including clearing the pre registration). seller got the model and description right but left out the USED part in the condition.

Great 2 line phone system
Simply great system, well designed nice and comfortable. Absolutely I will recommend this system for anyone who is looking to get 2 lines in a single handset it makes it easy. You won't be disappointed by this phone system. I have been using Panasonic cordless phones for a long time, I was bit afraid buying it. But i wasn't disappointed by this. Thanks

Probably the best value in a 2-line phone on the market
I looked at a lot of 2-line phones, and there is a major price jump from one-line to two. But for me, the consolidation of phones sets and regained desktop is more than worth the price - and that is especially true for the well-priced, top-performing VTech DS6151 2-line system. The base set includes one handset, and I especially like that is cordless. Each cordless expansion phone comes with a charger, and are boxed as a single expansion set. The 3-pak is just three separately boxed sets. Most vendors will sell the base and as many expansion sets as you want. You can add up to 11 additional handsets (total of 12) for a single base. I bought the phone base (DS6151) separately from a three-pak extension set (DS6101) from two separate vendors and saved a bunch, and both arrived within 1 day ... I looked at a lot of 2-line phones, and there is a major price jump from one-line to two. But for me, the consolidation of phones sets and regained desktop is more than worth the price - and that is especially true for the well-priced, top-performing VTech DS6151 2-line system. The base set includes one handset, and I especially like that is cordless. Each cordless expansion phone comes with a charger, and are boxed as a single expansion set. I bought the phone base (DS6151) separately from a three-pak extension set (DS6101) from two separate vendors and saved a bunch, and both arrived within 1 day of the other. The expansion phones will not work without the base, But the base can be used by itself for those who don't need extensions. VTech also offers a headset (IS6100) for this model, which plugs into the side of the handset. The 2013-14 models seem to have corrected all the complaints from prior years. I found the sound quality to be excellent, the volume range quite wide, and quite loud (and clear) at the highest setting. There are two line jacks on the base. Line1/Line1&2, and Line2. If you have one cable carrying both lines (standard 2-pair telephone cable with a single plug) then you just use the Line1/Line1&2 jack (4 contacts - the inner 2 for one line, and the outer 2 for the other line.) If each line has a separate cable, then one cable plugs into one jack, and the other cable plugs into the other jack. The second jack (Line 2) only has the two center contacts. In most cases, you won't have to worry about it. I don't use land lines anymore, and I just plugged into two MagicJack-pluses plugged into a router hub on my home network -- no problems. Some notable features of the DS6151 are: 0) Very intuitive, logical and labeled layout of buttons, and LCD panel and option selections. 1) A very clear, comprehensive 90-page user manual is included. The expansion handsets come with a 16-page user manual. 2) Each line can have its own ringtone. 3) Each handset can have its own ringtones 4) Each handset has a speaker option 5) The base has a separate speaker option, and can make and receive calls (on speaker) without the handset. 6) The base has a full-feature digital answering system, as well as a separate voice mail for each line. 7) You can screen incoming calls 8) Caller ID and Call Waiting are supported (if your telephone service provides it). 9) Speed dial (up to 10) Directory (up to 50) Entries can be made from any handset, available to all handsets. 10) Hold, flash, call transfer, and redial. 11) Intercom (individual handset or all), find handset, conference calling 12) Record a conversation. 13) Missed call indicator, and callback feature (callback requires caller ID service) 14) Character chart on p.40 of the user manual -- very handy when you want to find a particular character. And I probably left out some features. All-in-all -- an excellent, full featured, 2-line phone for the home and small business office -- at an unbeatable price.

Nice unit and good value...
Nice unit but could have larger font for numbers and caller ID features. Charging light should turn green when fully charged. Unit, should also have flashing light when you have a message waiting.
