Had one that broke (be careful with battery case!). Glad to find exact same thing on eBay.

This camera does have good image quality and is fairly easy to use. But, the battery door latches under a thin lip on the camera body and the lip is very fragile. Even if a small piece should break off the battery door will not stay closed. You can do what I did, use a strong rubber band to hold the door shut. But, that can be a pain because to be effective the rubber band will cover the controls on the rear of the camera. That makes it more difficult to use and becomes a real pain!!!

The Nikon COOLPIX L24 has good picture quality, I love the features (there are many and they are super easy to use), it is light weight and easy to carry anywhere, but not so small you easily loose it. I enjoyed the camera for 1 year and 7 months. It had fairly low usage (5000-8000 pictures). In fact, I had nothing bad to say about it until the battery door broke. After close examination, I found that the battery door is held shut by two tiny slivers of plastic. Since the batteries create a spring-loaded effect once the door is closed, a lot of pressure is put on these two little tabs of plastic. Apparently, after a while they bust off. I would expect a camera like this to last at least three years, and mine barely made it past the halfway mark. If you buy this camera, take into account that it will not last a long time. If you plan to only use it for a few trips and then replace it, then maybe it's the camera for you. Otherwise, I'd stay away from this particular design.Read full review
It went smoothly and glad i bought . I haven't tried to download the pictures so I not sure how they will come out; the picture on the screen looks very clear Hope the pictures will too. I was hoping it would take an action picture clearer and quicker and faster reaction time between each picture ,but i don't regreat, i have alot more options with this camera than from a different camera that costs sometimes more or less for value. Im excited to use .I have a couple of people that might buy one becuase they like mine better ,will recommend. I don't feel Im doing a very good review because I havent really haven't use it to much but I think it will do the trick or maybe I can upgrade at a later date,I will look up this site again, thanks for your patience.
I thought the camera took great pictures, is easy to use and fits in your shirt pocket. The video is a bit disappointing at 640x480. There are a few auto settings for portraits, sunsets etc. Nothing more than an exposure compensation if you want to go beyond that and that is pretty limited. All in all I'd say it's a great camera for it's price and should satisfy the average casual user.
I've owned at least 5 of these cameras. They take good pictures and are easy to use. The weak point is the battery door latch. In time they all fail. Nikon should have corrected this problem years ago.

As with many products, you get what you pay for. This camera is no exception. Its has its faults, one being that it is not very durable at all. I dropped it once from about waist height and the battery cover broke and it would no longer stay closed without a heap of duct tape. Now, over a month after the initial drop, I discovered that the screen was broken and was completely unusable. I have no clue how it happened either. Overall the camera has a limited set of features, its best probably being the easy-auto mode which adjusts the camera to certain settings depending on light to take the best picture (most of the time). It really had some trouble with shooting dark areas with a lot of motion. As long as its out in the light, you should have a good experience with this camera.
Technically, I should not write a review as mine never got unwrapped once I realized it needed two AA batteries which were included. I know it had plenty of features and oved the size. If you are content with AA batteries that you go through rapidly, then this would be excellent. If you want one with a battery that will last, then I highly recommend Nikon CoolPIX S6300. Nikon products are great. However, one is better off with with a recharable battery, if the shoot as much as I do. This was my own fault and not the camera's or supplier. However, I do wish they had mentioned it in their description. I will dontate it as a gift.
I bought this camera for my husband to take to the paintball field when he plays. He has a Nikon coolpix L100 and he likes it but it's get's in the way of his other gear. The L24 seems to be a good camera with clear pictures. It's small so you can take it in a pocket if you didn't want to use your phone. It has a decent zoom, easy to use. It has most of the features of the L100. I would call it a good everyday camera.
this was great love it my first new camera in a long time love that it goes straight to the computer and the amount of features you can use...love it still figuring it all out well worth my money and the package was brand new with all the books and cables came too.....great product
