The third entry in the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy, Lightning Returns reunites gamers with the heroine Lightning as she awakes from a 500-year slumber just 13 days before the end of the world. Gamers are tasked with saving the citizens of the planet Nova Chrysalia and are free to explore its four zones, but an in-game clock is always ticking down the seconds before the apocalypse, and some locations, characters, and missions are only available at specific times. Completing missions boosts Lightning's stats and provides her with Eradia, which can be used to extend the clock.<br><br>Lightning Returns features a modified version of the battle system from its two predecessors, with players assigning four commands to their controller's face buttons and performing real-time blocks, counters, and dodges. Gamers can wield a variety of weapons for close-quarters combat or unleash an assortment of magical attacks from range, but an Active Time Battle (ATB) gauge depletes with each action. Players can overcome their dwindling ATB bar by switching into new Schemata, which are essentially customizable outfits with their own ATB gauges. Success in combat boosts skills and gives Lightning money for use on weapons, outfits, and potions or food to replenish her health points.<br><br><! -- 360 -- >

    glad to see lightning's story continued

    it is a square quality game like so many others...and does a great job of enabling women of certain qualities much like previous final fantasy games and disney movies such as moana and mulan...and several others....i think the game is a little short compared to final fantasy 7 but it is still a welcomed game to supplement other excellent games.

    Awesome graphics and gameplay

    The platform is amazing and the graphics are very crisp, Final Fantasy has always been one of my favorite games and this one is a complement to the other final fantasy games with a smooth playing.

    A solid final Fantasy game.

    I know that alot of people didn't like the story but loved the gameplay. I'm in the minority in this one but, for me I thought the story was good. I think that most people say it's the story but in reality they mean the world. I will give you that this game has some of the quirkiest villains and the weirdest world of any Final Fantasy game. But I also think that it is very memorable. Years from now people are still going to talk about this game. I don't think they will be talking about Final Fantasy V.
