This camera lens features f/16 aperture, which offers optimum light transmission for perfect illumination in the images. The 58 mm filter of this Canon lens protects the lens from moisture, dust, and scrapes. Featuring an eight bladed diaphragm, this camera lens optimally focuses on the subject, rendering an excellent background blur. For added protection, the Canon 55 mm F/1.2 also features a BS-58 lens hood.

    The claim says, "Kept in mint, A Grade, almost like new..." is a bit of a stretch. I agree that the item is in good condition, but not "mint" neither "like new". I give positive feedback because the seller was courteous and responsive. I might be purchase from this seller again, soon. But I'll lower my expectations from the claims. Nonetheless, there are good points to be made. Quick shipping and well packaged. Kudos to those.

    Old Master

    I have played a little with the Canon FD 55 F1.2 on my Sony. I was surprised the level of sharpness I could get with it. I have only used it at F1.2 so far and thats pretty much what I bought the lens for, Of course at that aperture it has a beautiful bokeh. I found mine priced reasonably and a good investment, or at least that's what I tell my wife.

    A really solid classic Canon lens

    Great, well built lens that can create really beautiful images. At f/1.2 the image is soft but not unusable and has pleasing bokeh. Stopped down it only gets sharper.

    The most affordable lens with f/1.2 diaphragm and build quality

    This is amzing lens. It's just an astonishing piece of glass in a steel rock-solid jacket. Since it was made convertable to EOS without optical elements and infinity focus lost - it became strong alternate to EF 50 f/1.2 lense. The only converter solution for now is the "EdMika Canon FL 55mm 1:1.2 EF/EOS Conversion Kit" - it was designed specially for this lens and doesn't changes the lens itself. This lens has it's own no mercy fantastic bokeh, and it is even more than lens - it's a part of Canon's history. It is most affordable lens with f/1.2 diaphragm and build quality. So, must have lens for all the canon's users. May be it is good choice for NEX users, but I know nothing about it.

    Amazing build quality and fast

    Amazing build quality and fast. Very surprised how sharp this lens is being a vintage lens. Not only FF, but holds up in a 4K and 8K world. It is a bit heavy, but with the unique bokeh it produces, well worth it.

    excellent lens for film shallow depth of field film loofor my panasonic GH2

    excellent low light lens,nice bokeh, beautiful for portrait photography and really good price a little above 200$ for a f1.2 lens. excellent photos and videos for that shallow depth of field film look on my Panasonic GH2. since i got these legacy Canon FD lens, I sold all my auto lens. its a little heavier but very well built lens.
