    "Programming Microsoft Windows with C#" is well worth the money.

    "Programming Microsoft Windows with C#" explains the Windows interface clearly (In fact, every book by Charles Petzold that I have used was very helpful.) It is not necessary to be familiar with C# specifically to understand the content. Also, the book has a sufficient number of examples to resolve any remaining issues. (Of course, having been published in 2002, it is out of date; but is still very useful for understanding the basics.)
