Ten years have gone by since Michael Myers has struck Haddonfield of Illinois with a bloodbath. Presently - Michael is in acoma in a pyscho ward. He is going to be transfered back to Smith's Grove, however in horror movies like this, something always goes haywire. Waking up half way through the drive he attacks the two men with him in the back and causes a huge wreck and fire. The aftermath yields no body belonging to the killer along with his previous pyschiatrist Dr. Sam Loomis,(Donald Pleasence - making his third apperance in the series w scar burns from the fire at the Haddonfield hospital from the last encounter), looking at the mess and knowing Michael Myers lives on. The new target Michael is after is Laurie's niece, Jamie Lloyd, (played by Danielle Harris), who is a bit paranoid knowing somehow Uncle Mike is comng for her! Also starring in this fourth sequal to the series is Ellie Cornell, (Rachel Carruthers in the film) as Jamie's caretaker. Shasta Jenson stars as Rachel's boyfriend along with Kathleen Kinmont as a rival school mate of Rachel's.Read full review
As far as these films go, HALLOWEEN 4 holds its own in character development and direction. The story changes pace from parts 1 and 2 (part 3, while being a fine film, has nothing to do with Myers) but still focuses on the family aspect driving Myers to murder. We find out Myers has been in a coma for all these years and, while in transit to a medium security hospital, "awakens" to the information that his sister is now dead but had a daughter, Myers' niece, and she is alive and well in the town of Haddonfield. The usual slasher antics ensue, however in a more sophisticated, solid manner than your average slasher. Myers rips through cops and teenagers on the way to his niece setting up what has come to be a classic shock ending. A fine horror film that in the end does more than showcase violence but begs the question, " Is evil forever? " If you like the first two, my advice would be to keep going and watch part 4. You won't be upset you did. Again, the ending is worth the watch!Read full review
This is the best Halloween movie of all time! Every scene is entertaining, makes sense and is realistic. This movie is 90% serious, which it should be. Its a shame there is no nudity. However there is no gruesome violent scenes, which is another good thing.

Donald Pleasence and Danielle Harris star in this 1988 horror sequel. Masked killer, Michael Myers awakens from a 10-year coma to find his niece. Donald is great as Loomis and I'm glad he came back in this. One of the funniest things is when the hicks go after Michael with shotguns. This dvd has nice picture and sound plus some neat extras. I recommend this good Halloween sequel.
I have always liked this franchise and the Dvd plays fine so what else needs to be said
