From its source material-- early fetish artist John Willie's "Sweet Gwendoline" comic serial, and from the high production values in some YouTube clips from the film, this one seemed like it would be an excellent, wacky fetish romp. I was wrong. It's a STINKER, rendered nearly unwatchable by horrific dialog, bad acting, pointless plotting and haphazard editing. The sets and costumes are rather nice, at least for the last third of the film. The rest of it, well, imagine a VERY dumbed-down version of Barbarella. In the commentary the director admits he doesn't understand John Willie's approach to BDSM fetish play so he went for the humor, but the "humor" in this film is broad slapstick and elementary school wordplay and bears very little resemblance to Willie's work. It's like the whole film was done by people who felt embarrassed to be involved with it. The one up side, this version of the DVD includes the only taped interview with John Willie, which is interesting.Read full review
To be very honest it is a bit on the pricey $$$$ side but it is out of print and a lot of fun so I wanted it and I bought it! If you can afford it buy it

It's good movie to watch, if you have a night off and don't have to think about anything.
