You know, for being a kid's game, this is actually a fun and challenging game even for old-fart gamers like myself. I enjoy the many bonuses and upgrades players can apply to their characters and the graphics are very colorful like Konami's other TMNT games. Players can level-up their character's ability's by defeating enemies, acquire Elder scrolls and DVD's through out the game in addition to bonus games for more scrolls and DVD's. The scrolls enhance different parts of your character, for example, some scrolls extend your character's health bar and other scrolls increase weapon damage. Each DVD contains an episode from the Turtle's cartoon series and Konami added a movie player suite for kids to watch all their collected DVD's in any order they want. I purchased this game mainly for the TMNT, Turtles in Time arcade emulation that brings back old memories from the days in the arcades and pizza parlors like Round Table Pizza. Very simple and fun to play for anyone interested in having a Final-Fight style butt-kicken good time. Always listen to master Splinter, take out Shredder's foot soldiers and henchmen, stay alive by eating pizza and team up to fight Shredder as the final boss to save April. A few things I don't like, the Turtles In Time arcade emulation will only let players choose a character per game controller so you need four controllers to play each of the four characters which sucks, I know Konami could've fixed this problem. The old-school maze-like level designs have been used in many older games before but this is a kid's game. I also found it frustrating to navigate through certain levels at times often retracing my steps and getting lost until I found the right place to complete a task or advance to the next level. The enemies are predictable, except for boss characters so not much will surprise gamers here and they regenerate every time players go back to a place they previously finished which can be annoying when your lost because if you die you have to start the level all over again. With a new Turtle's movie in theaters, the video game series might get a much needed revive and become popular once again. However, if Konami is not developing TMNT games then I'm not interested from a vintage-gamer's POV, only Konami could develop the TMNT games the way they did. Unfortunately, people lost interest in the TMNT's a few years back and as a result, Konami sold the license to Ubisoft. Finally, TMNT3:Mutant Nightmare is the last Konami developed TMNT game in a long running video game series originally developed by Konami. With 1 to 4 players, this is a fantastic game for kids and adults alike, a great way for Konami to finish out the series on top.Read full review
I purchased this game for my 7-year-old son, because of his like for the characters and his like of the TMNT 2 game. He enjoyed the gameplay of this new version, especially where he could reconfigure the Turtles abilities and the minigames (which I believe to be the old arcade versions of the TMNT). One to four players can play at a time. My reason for liking this game is because it is easy to pick up and not very difficult to manuever (my 4-year-old can play along with her brother) and at the same time has a lot of action which keeps my son's attention. Sometimes there is too much action going on and it gets confusing keeping track of your Turtle (take it from me, since I've played with them as well). Overall, we give TMNT 3 a rating of GOOD. In my opinion, the graphics could be a little more clearer and maybe the characters a bit larger, but the kids do not seem to have a problem with the game and in the end it's their opinion that counts.Read full review
awesmome game, one of the best ps2 tmnt games made thus far. 4 players makes this came freakin awesome, and you get to go back in time with Turtles In Time from the arcade version. One of the better TMNT games made for ps2 deff buy it will be worth your time, tons and tons of gameplay and hidden stuff to find and story is pretty long too with nice cutscenes that are not just from the tmnt show.
This game was so much fun, not only does it incorporate new things such as experience, but if u beat a certain level, it unlocks the old Turtles in Time game that is awesome as well. This game is very challenging and takes quite some time to get through it all and thats exactly what you want. The bosses are so awesome in this game as well. I highly reccomend this game.
Hard to find game, usually pretty expensive, I’m happy with what I paid and the quality of the game and case.
