Seller notes: “Item: Japanese rice bags that were actually used to carry and store rice. ・Era: Mid-Showa period ... “Item: Japanese rice bags that were actually used to carry and store rice. ・Era: Mid-Showa period (around 1946-1963) It is embroidered in Japanese Katakana. コヤギ　ヤ　ヨコヤマ = Koyagi Ya Yokoyama This is the store name and Japanese name. Until around the mid-Showa period, there was a custom in Japan of bringing rice to ceremonial occasions to show one's feelings, and rice bags were also used on such occasions. This is an item from the time that was directly connected to the lives of Japanese people, where rice was their staple food. Even among rice bags, it is extremely rare to find one that is this large, and it is not easy to obtain one. The combination of fabrics is beautiful and conveys the charm of Japan vintage. The lining is also cool. Condition: There are tears and stains in some places, and damage to the string. We did the laundry. There is a smell peculiar to old items. We hope that you can use it for various purposes depending on your ideas. Thank you.”
