It's a great book. The author provides many episodes of his life in the late 1930's and 40's. I can only imagine his deplorable childhood.

The good was in good shape being a used book. Good book to read.

  • Gifted Pulitzer Prize Award winning writer. Treat yourself with this!

I'm making this book my birthday present to myself! This is one terrific story. The writer certainly deserved a Pulitzer Prize for this. What a gift this writer has.

  • the title is perfect

This is one of (if not the best) book I've ever read. The content is so sad, difficult, depressing etc. but, the way Frank McCourt describes it with such innocence and humor - that's a very difficult thing to do. I read this many years ago. I bought this book for a friend who never read it and, I hope she loves it as much as I do.
