Very practical boot jack – well made, good value
This boot jack is a well made and very practical item. The rubber on the bottom and where you place your boot ensures that there is no movement when used. The padding around the U-shaped end where you place your boot, ensures that there is no damage to the boot, when pressure is applied to pull your foot out of the boot. However, a bit more care could have been given to the quality of the finish to the timber – should have been sanded smooth before clear polyurethane finish applied, so not so rough to the feel on the sides. Also, the maker should have used clear timber, with no knots - otherwise I'd have given 5 star rating. But then, I'm fussy – the item is very practical and works very well.This boot jack is a well made and very practical item. Does the job
This boot jack does what it’s meant to do. The quality in terms of strength/robustness and function is fine but the finish is not great. I don’t mind that it may have been made from timber, fabric and rubber offcuts - I’m all for recycling - but the gluing and varnishing is very messy, with hardened glue/varnish on the fabric part that is supposed to protect your shoes/boots from marks and other damage. This can result in scuffing on the shoes/boots as they are removed with the jack. I bought this to get my western boots off though and it certainly makes that a lot easier. I’ve started using it to get my sneakers off too. I thought it was a little expensive - mainly because of the poor quality of the build. A good, functional product but a cleaner finish, especially where it contacts the ... This boot jack does what it’s meant to do.
