Grear features for a low price

Purchased this to monitor the battery and charging system in my RV. So far it works well and offers all the information I need. Battery cable end didn't fit through the hall effect sensor but I solved that by making a stand-off for the post using a coupling nut and a bolt. The sensor fits over the coupling nut and the battery cables bolt to the top. $5. The only change that would help is having a 12v input to power the display and/or a USB socket on the back that doesn't stick out so far. A longer cable for the sensor would help allow the transmitter electronics to be placed farther away from the batteries and potential caustic fumes. Time will tell how well it holds up. Being able to change temperature display from Celsius to Fahrenheit would be nice too. With those changes it would be ...

    • Just what I was looking for

Have this hooked up to my solar backup system 920 ah battery bank It is working well and is right inline with other meters I've used to check it Would have gave it a 5 except it did not come with manual, but after fumbling throuh it I figured it out and it works great

    • Works fine, beware of radio transmissions.

The device appears to work correctly, and there are many functions I didn't test. I was, however, quite disappointed by the sensitivity of the Hall effect sensor to RF fields - a low power handheld radio transmitter (.5 watt on VHF) several feet away causes serious incorrect readings. It is possible that shielding and bypassing will reduce this.

    • Great meter with an (almost) wireless display

I am using this to monitor my trolling motor battery in my kayak. The sensor is mounted inside of the water proof battery case. I put the display in a small tupperware type container to protect it. The display gets all of its info wirelessly, but requires something for power. The display has a usb connection, so I use a phone charger power bank. The wireless connection is fantastic. It works across the house and through walls. The accuracy seams good. The voltage reading matches my multimeter. The amps match my hobby charger. The display is super bright and beautiful. The only negative was, that it came with ZERO directions. But I was able to find a manual online

    • Wireless DC Battery Meter

This little battery operating monitor is one of a series of these designs with this one using a Hall coil and external thermocouple for measuring temperature. Of all the variations of this design, this is the only monitor that includes a temperature probe. It took me 6 or more reads of the instructions to digest how to connect it to my battery system. It was helpful to me to find and watch a number of You Tube videos done on this and it's sister designs all using the same LED display module.
