Bose FreeStyle In-Ear iOS Headphones, Great for people when regular ear buds just don't "hang" right.
This is the only style of earbuds that fit my ears with small ear canals (ear holes): this model being especially made with an inline microphone and remote controls for iOS phone calls and music player control.
***Note: the inline controls can work with other smart phones (music play/pause, call answer/end call) but not all the functions (i.e. Vol +/-) will work as it does for iOS phones***
The earbuds arrived with a zippered color-coordinated case, a clothing clip and three pairs of different color-coded sized shallow insertion silicone ear tips (small/white, medium/gray, large/black) that fit onto the hard plastic exterior part of the left and right labeled earbuds. The curved silicone "point" of the ear tip rests just inside the conch or most inner fold of the ear (this is where the sized part of the ear tips come in) and this is what helps me, in particular, with having earbuds that stay in and don't fall off while in use. ***Note: these earbuds are not shoved deep into the ear canal but rather fit just inside the ear canal***
I do use these with light to moderate dog walking and heavy exercise on an elliptical and the phone on an armband or in the pocket of a neck towel or in a zippered waistband product. If I feel there is too much sweat on them, making them slippery, I just remove, wipe them on my gym towel, and re-insert. I do keep the earbuds in its case and I try not to unnecessarily pull or yank the buds out of the phone or mp3 player.
The earbuds stay securely in the ear for exercise with an long (approximately 45 1/4 inches/115 cm) coated wire that has at one end, approximately 10 inches/15.5 cm of wire that is separated left and right with an adjustable slide to close the separation of the wires. There is an inline microphone with controls on the right side earbud wire approximately 3 inches/8 cm down from the earbud - I can only see this as a problem if your left-handed as the ear buds cannot be switched. On the other end of the earbuds is a 3.5mm gold-plated jack/connector.
I have purchased four pairs of Bose earbuds in the last 15+ years - all are still working; at home, at work, in the car and in my purse.
As to the the sound of these earbuds, I'd say they are the best non-professional earbuds I have heard and are worth their price. Bose has what's called tri-Port technology which allows the user to hear highs and lows in an extraordinary balance. I don't use any phone equalizer settings and prefer to use them on a "flat" equalizer setting. These are not like some other comparable buds that are more expensive and popular nowadays that have way too much bass for me and although they have the ear tip I need, the part that enters the ear canal is still the "mushroom-tipped" shape I cannot use and needs to be inserted deeper into the ear canal.
I listen to everything: classical, rock, bollywood, jazz, metal, hip-hop, pop, podcasts, videos etc... the gamut of sounds, and I'm never displeased. I take care of my hearing and really never have had a need to use these at full volume. Needless to say, even at the loudest volume I don't hear the distortion than can happen with cheaper technology.
All in all, these earbuds/earphones have outstanding sound quality and come in a neat variety of color designs as well as, just as important for me, have the ability to have the earbuds stay in my ears and not fall out.
