    Dual purpose alarm!

    I use this alarm to check for carbon monoxide but I also need to check for explosive gas, namely propane! I have a propane fireplace and a propane stove in my house so I need the added protection. This is the third time I’ve purchased this combination alarm and it has served me well! The alarm is a little more expensive than either a smoke alarm or a carbon monoxide detector but since you can plug it into a receptacle it will last seven years! It does have 9 volt battery for power backup in case of a power failure! At the end of it’s life cycle the alarm will chirp to inform you that it’s sensors are depleted!👍

    Item was defective, started beeping a low battery after 2-3 days. Put in a brand new battery and it did the same thing. Thankfully I was able to return it and get my money back.

    versatile unit

    Well know brand. Quality is good. What stands out is the plug for the outlet is movable. I wanted to get the unit low to the floor and close to the heater and since the plug-in can be pulled from the unit and plugged into the outlet, i was able to do both. Not sure how long the cord is, I would guess 2 or more feet. I didn't need but 1 foot so I left the rest coiled up inside of the back of the unit. It tested out and is easy to use it's functions.

    Works great!

    A carbon monoxide tester is different than an explosive gas detector and this unit combines both. Initial testing with a pocket lighter (explosive gas) was successful in that the unit emitted a deafening alarm when it 'smelled' my pocket lighter with the flame blown out. The lighter was brought within a few inches of the unit. The unit is now plugged into a socket right next to our gas stove. Spend the money. It works very well. You're worth it.

    The Kidde gas & carbon monoxide alarm is of great quality. It is versatile in that it can be hung on a wall, plugged into an outlet, or stood on a table. It also includes a battery. Instructions are clear as to where to place it, how it works, about testing and additional information. Excellent durable product designed to last.
